Diabetic Foot Care Nurse

Merry Family Foot Clinic is seeking a specialized Diabetic Foot Care Nurse to assist our Chiropodist with completing foot assessments and related treatments for common foot conditions (e.g., onychomycosis, corn and callous treatment, et cetera).


Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse with a valid registration

Completion of Advanced Foot Care course / certificate

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, compassion, and diplomacy

Valid First Aid and CPR

Clean vulnerable sector police check

Experience in diabetes education, primary care and/or chronic disease management is an asset

Main Responsibilities:

Diabetic Foot Care Nurses’ responsibilities include: taking patient history, performing routine and diabetic footcare using dremel, assisting with wound care, performing diabetic testing, moulding ottoform toe devices, administering shockwave therapy, assisting with shoe fittings, cleaning and maintaining autoclave sanitizing system, measuring and fitting for compression socks, and providing foot and ankle taping.

Additional Responsibilities:

Coordinate and ensure all supplies and related equipment are secured, properly set up and fully operational

Create and maintain related client documentation in accordance with set guidelines, including collection and submission of evaluation data

Educate patients on foot care-related topics

On the job training will be provided for shockwave therapy, compression sock fitting, ottoform toe device forming, and orthotics modifications.

Full time position Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM. Six-month probation period.
